As it has not come to my knowledge that anyone in the history of astrology
interpreted The zodiac degrees in such way, I shall call my theory as follows:

THEORY ON THE DEGREES
BY NIKOLA STOJANOVIC

Which reads as follows:

»EACH DEGREE OF THE ZODIAC CIRCLE HAS
THE BASIC CHARACTERISTICS OF THE ANALOGOUS
ZODIAC SIGN«

INTRODUCTION TO
THE THEORY ON DEGREES

I have always found the encounters with the fellow astrologers interesting, particularly the encounters with the astrologers who have pursued this divine science for good many years. In such encounters with renowned astrologers, in which an astrologer wishes to present his/her knowledge in order to earn the respect of the other colleague, there is always a touch of vanity involved. A few years ago, I met a fellow astrologer who had meticulously studied astrology for more than 20 years and was the Professor of Belgrade University. Out of respect for all those years he had spent studying astrology, I let him start the ball rolling in - what turned out to be - a very pleasant discussion. Since he was an attentive reader of my articles published in Argument weekly, my mentioning of the zodiac degrees came to his attention, and we began to talk about it ... Until that discussion I had not talked much about my discovery of secrets of the degrees, partly for the fear that someone might claim my knowledge ... However, my vanity and awareness of the importance the secret of degrees made me start talking ... At the next moment, the fellow astrologer produced his wife’s birth chart. I only asked him if that chart was precise, and having obtained the affirmative answer and studied it for some ten seconds, I told him the following: »Your wife called a carpenter to the house and ordered a larger bed to be made. When the carpenter had finished the job, you went to bed and realized that the work was not properly done. One measure was right – the bed was long enough - but the other one wasn't – the bed wasn't wide enough, it was still narrow«.

The amazed look on the fellow astrologer’s face told me that this brief analysis was absolutely correct. How had I come to such correct details? Sleeping and everything in connection with it – a bed, a bedroom - is described in the 12th house of the horoscope. The cusp of the 12th house of my colleague’s wife begins at the 21st degree of Aries, and the ruler of that house, Mars, is at the 6th degree of Virgo.

According to my theory, the 21st degree has the symbolic of Sagittarius (like 9°), and Aries symbolizes to make, to create. So, his wife wanted to make (Aries) a larger (21° – Sagittarius – Jupiter – to enlarge) bed (the 12th house).

As Mars, the ruler of the 12th house, is placed in Virgo (someone who renders services, a worker), she called the carpenter to the house. However, her Mars was in Virgo and, moreover at Virgo degree (6°), and taking into consideration that Virgo symbolizes diminishing, making smaller, one measure of the bed had to be smaller than needed.

Therefore, the cusp of the 12th house (the bed) at the 21st degree (Sagittarius – larger, longer) tells us that the bed was long enough (enlarged), and Mars in Virgo, at Virgo degree (6°) that it was not wide enough, i.e. it was narrow.

Naturally, any reader of this book will wonder how I had ever come to discover the secrets of the zodiac degrees.

Studying astrology in a rather traditional way for this region (I am referring to the knowledge acquired from the books available in Belgrade in late 1980s and early 1990s by M. Dupor, G. Milekic and other authors), more often than not it happened that when analyzing a chart I filed to pinpoint some crucial moments in a person’s life. Since those analyses, of course, also contained the right »guesses«, clients usually left satisfied or partly satisfied. However, I remained dissatisfied and a bit disappointed with my knowledge. Very often I spent long hours searching for answers and solutions to the details I had not seen in my analysis of a chart. I thought the missing knowledge could be found in books I did not possess and frantically kept ordering the foreign books on astrology. A number of books I had in English was gradually increasing. However, my knowledge did not increase proportionally, only my disappointment. Furious, I decided to stop buying books and began conducting astrological research of my own. My horoscope certainly prompted me to such decision: I was born under Pisces which symbolize the unknown and unexplored i.e. the research work - all of which is supported by Ascendant in Virgo symbolizing little, small things, details ... Thus, I focused (the Ascendant – action) on studying (Pisces) the zodiac degrees (Virgo). Somehow about that time I started working in the Argument Journal and received a letter from a grief-stricken mother asking me about the fate of her missing son ... she had a feeling he was killed.

Her son was born under Aries with Leo Ascendant, and the Sun (life) at the 8th degree of Aries. At that moment I remembered M. Dupor who qualified that degree as adverse and bound to have the symbolic of the 8th sign of Scorpio – death. Naturally, I did not reply to this mother's letter, but it occurred to me: »If the 8th degree has the symbolic of the 8th sign of Scorpio, the other zodiac degrees will have the analogous symbolic of a particular sign«. At that moment I also recalled a sentence I once read somewhere which goes something like this: »The basic properties of something substantial are contained in the integral part thereof ...«. In astrology the zodiac signs are »substantial«, and the zodiac degrees are the integral part of any astrological sign...

So, I began with the following analogy: If the 8th degree corresponds to the 8th sign of Scorpio, then the 1st degree has to be analogous to the first sign of Aries; the 2nd degree is analogous to the second sign of Taurus; the 3rd degree is analogous to the third sign of Gemini, and so on up to the 12th degree which has the symbolic of the 12th sign of Pisces. At the time, I had no clue about the zero (0°) degree (from 00'00" to 0°59'59"). For me, it presented an absolute mystery (I said to myself – some solution to this degree is bound to come up later...), but all the time I kept thinking: »And what about 13th, 14th, 15th degree...?«

It happened that at the time I was studying the birth chart of the USA. I thought: »Every American president possesses a strong desire to enter the history as a great warrior...«. I wondered why? Obviously, their Sun (a president) squares Saturn (history), thus producing their wish to do something to be recorded in history textbooks ... But, why war? Certainly, it occurred to me that the degrees after the 12th degree start again from Aries. If we look at the zodiac circle and start from the first sign of Aries up to the last sign of Pisces, we will see that the zodiac continues, i.e. the sign of Aries comes again, because the zodiac is an infinite circle.

So, the American presidents (the Sun) want to enter the history (Saturn) as warriors (the degree of Aries – Mars), because their Sun is at the degree of Aries (13° of Cancer).

Consequently, the story continues from the beginning: the 13th degree has the symbolic of Aries, the 14th degree the symbolic of Taurus, the15th degree the symbolic of Gemini. (Somehow, about that time, I was paid a visit by a girl with the Sun at the15th degree of Leo, in her 12th house). She said: »My father (the Sun) drives a bus (15°) to Montenegro (Leo) at night (12th house) ...«. I jumped from the chair in excitement..., the 16th degree has the symbolic of Cancer, and so on to the 24th degree which has the symbolic of Pisces.

Quite naturally, I asked myself: »And what next? What happens with 25, 26, 27, 28 and 29th degree of each sign?«

The birth chart which helped me solve this dilemma, believe it or not, was Adolf Hitler’s (20 April 1889, 18:30, CET – 1, 13E02, 48N15).

His horoscope had been a mystery to me for many years. I had many questions I couldn't find the answers to. For example, I wondered: »Why was he obsessed with war; why did he always appear in the military uniform; and why did he personally command the military operations..?«

There is a strong 7th house in his horoscope (dealing with politics, warfare, conquering), but confusing thing was the fact that he was born under Taurus with Ascendant in Libra – the ruler of both signs is Venus which, in astrology, symbolizes peace. In addition, his Venus (the ruler of the Sun and Ascendant) in Taurus is much stronger than Mars in Taurus conjunction Venus. Strong Venus in Taurus in its natural 7th house is much stronger than Mars in Taurus in the 7th house, which is weak for Mars. However, there was something in that arrangement that was pushing him to wage war ...

That dilemma was resolved by the position of his Ascendant at the 25th degree of Libra with the symbolic of Aries (the ruler Mars – waging wars). Naturally, just as in the zodiac circle, Aries comes again after the12th sign of Pisces, the 25th Aries degree comes after the 12th and 24th degree which have the symbolic of the 12th sign of Pisces.

Consequently, Hitler was obsessed with war; he appeared (the Ascendant – the image we create) in the military uniform and he commanded military operations, because his Ascendant (action, image, appearance, action priorities ...) is at the 25th degree conveying the symbolic of Aries.

Therefore, this continues in the same order of things: the 25th degree has the symbolic of Aries, the 26th degree the symbolic of Taurus, the 27th degree the symbolic of Gemini, the 28th degree the symbolic of Cancer and, at the very end, there is the 29th degree with the symbolic of Leo.

And what comes next after the 29th degree of each zodiac sign? We get to the zero (0°) degree of the next zodiac sign hence repeating all 12 zodiac signs in a circle.
